I don’t know about you, but the butterflies are seriously kicking in today as I prepare to set off for Barcelona. It’s one of my favourite cities to hang out with its combination of art, architecture, great food and seaside. So if you’re heading to Barcelona next week, how about sending your loved ones a postcard home using one of your digital photos?
Our friends at Touchnote have a special offer giving you two free credits to send a real, printed postcard home direct from your mobile phone, tablet or PC. I’ve been using the service for a few years now and regularly send cards to my Mum and Auntie. The quality is lovely, the interface is simple and Touchnote is giving you two free credits to get you going. This offer is also open to existing customers.
How does it work?
Well, you need to have an account at Touchnote. So I suggest that you set that up first by going online or downloading the app. If you already have an account you’ll need to be logged in. Once you’re logged in, go to http://touchnote.com/redeem and enter the code HOTMF14 and you’ll have two free credits added to your account. That’s enough to send two postcards to absolutely anywhere in the world. And erm, that’s it. Those credits will be stored on the app on your phone, tablet or PC and can be used any time.
The offer is limited to the first 200 people. So get clicking and set yourself up now so that you too can send a postcard home.
Touchnote is the world’s most popular mobile postcard service with more than 4m app downloads across Android and iOS (download links here). Designed to help users stay in touch with loved ones, Touchnote’s apps turn your digital photos into real, printed postcards, sent anywhere in the world by post. We print and post from UK, USA, Germany and Australia.

I’m very happy to announce a new partnership with our friends at MOO.com. If you’ve met me (Helen) before, then you’ve probably had one of my business cards and I always use MOO and use my own photos for them. I love the card quality and the fact that you can have a different design for each card. It always makes for an interesting conversation point at a networking event.
So what’s the deal here then?
Well, you can order a pack of 50 standard size business cards or 100 mini size business cards FREE*. How about that? You can even pick up your cards in Barcelona, if you’d like to, at Makers of Barcelona (MOB) on Sunday 24th February or Monday 25th February 2013.
You’ll notice there’s a teeny Mobile Hero logo on the card so the person you give the card too will remember that you met at Heroes of the Mobile Fringe in Barcelona. And hey, you are a mobile hero, right? That’s why you’re involved in the festival. Neat, huh?
You need to hurry though! If you order by 11.59pm (GMT) on Sunday 17 February (20 February if you pay a rush fee), you’ll be in time for the pick up in Barcelona. That doesn’t give you very long, so you’d better get on to it!

You’re probably wondering what the mobile angle is here and why MOO.com is involved with us. Well, it’s all linked with their upcoming NFC card launch. These are business cards that link to your digital world that gives you the full capability to rewrite the information stored on the chip any time you like. That’s an exciting use of NFC and we’re keen to see how these work when we see some in the flesh. And it’s especially appealing to mobilists. More info here and don’t forget to sign up to keep updated so you can be one of the first to try them.
*Only one pack of business cards (either size) per person. Excludes Euro 3 processing fee. Please ensure that your country selected is UK on the Moo.com site to enable the shipping option direct to MOB in Barcelona.
It’s the only 100% mobile gaming party all week and it’s a sell-out. But never fear, we have ten tickets to give away for the party which is on Monday night at 6pm until 9pm just a few minutes walk from La Fira. All you have to do is fill in this form before 18:00 GMT today (Friday) and we’ll pick the names out of a hat. Full details about the party are here.

And as a special ‘fringe benefit’ for us, they’re offering a special price of 3,99€/day (reg. 5,99€) for all referred rentals from HEROES of the MOBILE FRINGE. In order to claim your discount, when you order, you just click on “Supply a discount or voucher code” in the booking form and enter the code MOBILEHEROES then you will get the 3,99€/day price up until Thursday 1st March 2012. Please note that there is also no extra charge for Saturday and Sunday deliveries on 25 and 26 February as a Mobile World Congress special deal.
Now, I can’t vouch for tripNETer and how well it works or not as I haven’t tried them yet, but I will be giving them a go whilst in Barcelona as it sounds very useful. And at that price, I think it’s worth an experiment to save on roaming as you can connect all your devices, and not just one mobile phone.
To order for Barcelona specifically, click here http://www.tripneter.com/bookings/barcelona/ and don’t forget, that promotional code is MOBILEHEROES.
